Abstract: In this research work, we proposed and analysed a mathematical model for chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), a cancer of the blood. In particular we developed a model for the interaction between naive T cells, effector T cells and the CML cancer cells in the body, using a system of ordinary differential equations. We made reasonable assumptions about the model and conduct a linear stability analysis. We also constructed the phase portrait for the model and obtained the numerical solutions. We obtained values for the Parameters from available experimental data and estimated and analysed the system for sensitivity to changes in the parameters. Our results indicated that the most promising research avenues for treatment of CML should be those that affect the two significant parameters i.e. CML growth and death rates.
