Abstract: The term "Micro-Display"(MD) means a compact active matrix display designed for use with a magnifying system [[1]. Features: small physical size, rich information content, active matrix addressing, low power consumption and enlarged image viewed through magnifying optics - virtual display. In this paper major application areas and four technologies namely: Digital light Processing (DLP); Liquid Crystal Display (LCD); Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) and Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) Technologies respectively were presented.
