Abstract: | Rice threshing in Nigeria remains a problem to the crerage peasant furver The recimieues for threshing rice are still the traditional merlud of hand heuringThis merhod is Juhorious time resting and not economical also the commonly cailable rice treshers are the imported ones, which are not affordable to majority of Nigerian farmers. Rice Thresler-cleaner with oupul capucir of 2-6.9kg /m. was designed and friccred to solve Thresining problem in Nigeria. The pinsical properties of Faro 57 Rice crop and grein such as length of ears. length and breadth of grain. grain strane ratio and moisture content were studied. The fresher was fabricated and evaluated for its performance in furnis of threshing efficiency: cleaning efficiency and percentage gruin loss. Ir rice ceruge moisture contem of 13.83% per basis). and design cilinder speed of 556rpun. test results reveals that the rice Tresler has a threshing efficiency of 98.01% cleaning efficiency of 99.32% total perce losses of 1.78% |
