dc.description.abstractThe aim of the study was to develop a training manual for maintenance of Radio and Digital Versatile Disc (R and DVD) Player for electronics craftsmen. One research question and one hypothesis guided the study. The study was Research and Development (R&D) research and employed the Wheeler’s model. The study covers North-Central States of Nigeria. The population for the study was 58 respondents which consist of 32 electronics teachers in the 15 accredited science and technical colleges offering electronics trade and 26 master craftsmen with the NDE States head offices in North-Central States. The instrument used for data collection was questionnaire. Data collected was analyzed using mean for research question and t-test for the hypothesis. Emerging findings revealed that the R and DVD player contents consists of operational tasks, learning objectives, skills for replacing faulty components, teaching requirements and tools and materials required for maintenance of mechanical sub-system. Recommendation made include R and DVD player maintenance training module should be included in craftsmen training programme in Nigeria, consequently the developed draft training manual should be adopted and used for training and retraining of craftsmen in the maintenance of R and DVD player.en_US
