Abstract: | The design in this study suggests a two-layer protected graphical authentication mechanism using OTP for verification so as to increase the security of web-based applications. The suggested procedure calls for using a graphical password as the primary form of authentication and a one-time password (OTP) as a secondary form of authentication. The server will produce the OTP and send it to the user's registered email address or cell phone number. After that, the user will input the OTP to finish the authentication procedure. In a controlled setting, the proposed approach will be used, assessed, and the results will be utilised to assist further study. Web-based applications may be made more secure using the suggested two-layer protected graphical authentication technique with OTP for verification, which can also help safeguard sensitive data from unwanted access. The results show that this research improves related ones regarding memory and time complexities. This study is essential for people, companies, and organisations that use web-based apps to store sensitive data. |
