dc.description.abstract | A clay soil collected from Poggo, along Minna - Paiko Road of Niger State, Nigeria was moulded into Clay bricks and fired at 600 degree Celsius temperature. The moulds were formed specially with grooves and protrusions of varied depths and thicknesses on both sides. The bricks were then fitted using cement slurry of 0.7 water-cement ratio to form short beam. The results gave a highest compressive strength of 3.7 N/mm2 and a highest flexural strength of 0.48 N/mm2, which satisfy the requirement for load-bearing wall according to Nigerian Industrial Standard. | en_US |
