dc.description.abstractA Public Address (P.A) System into which an automatic back-up power supply unit is incorporated is designed and built. The preamplifier stage has a total voltage gain of 1033 .9. The input and output power of the P.A system are 27.23W and 20.25W respectively. Also the P.A system has an efficiency of 74.37 %. The incorporated back -up power supply is a 12v dc supply from batteries (cells) which is linked up to a charging circuit with 15.94v out put voltage having a charging current of 2.50 A. The achieved back-up power supply unit makes the P A system reliable in the event of power failure from the mains.en_US
