Abstracts: The pursuit for the discovery of abundant and sustainable resource of energy has been of interest to many scientists due to accelerated depletion in non-renewable energy resources and environmental concerns. This draws attention to photovoltaic technology which converts solar radiation to electrical energy. Photovoltaic devices like inorganic, organic and hybrid solar cells have been invented for the past several years using several methods. The issue with traditional Silicon-based Solar Cell is the manufacturing costs and environmental problems which restricts its pervasive use. Tremendously, among all organic solar cells, Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSCs) been study as an alternative to Silicon base Solar Cells have received much attention since the rst report of 7 % efcient cell in 1991. Its low cost and easily implemented technology. Afrmed record efciencies of DSSCs is now 13.29 % for optimized CdSe-TiO2 photo-anode. This review describes the present status, future prospects and the research challenges that must be addressed to continue the rapid commercialization of DSSC.en_US
