Abstract: This study set out to review on public library objectives, cognitive qualities as correlates to the fifteenth sustainable development goal in Nigeria. The concept of sustainable development goal was explained, sustainable development goal fifteen (Goal 15: SDG) deals with "life on land," in other words, terrestrial biodiversity and ecosystems, as well as their services, its nine targets and three means of implementation cover a vast array of environmentally sensitive issues related to land-based renewable natural resources, concepts of the public library objective is the goal and aim of public libraries, public library strategies towards the attainment of fifteenth SDG; include publicity, outreach, use of flyers, cognitive qualities mean the ability of the librarians to recognized the sustainable development goal (SDG) and apply them in their library services and challenges facing libraries towards achieving sustainable development were identify to include lack of financial and sufficient manpower to support and implement sustainable development goal (SDG) in the library. The paper concluded by recommending that the government should appreciate the role of libraries in the overall development of the society, participating in collaborative and partnership activities and engaging in effective lobbying and advocacy programmes.
