dc.description.abstractThe study was designed to investigate the pedagogical skills adopted in teaching of electrical and electronics engineering programmes and the pedagogical skills needed by electrical and electronics engineering lecturers in teaching in the Universities in Northern Nigeria. A 51-items questionnaire was used to collect data from 91 Lecturers, and 371 500Level students in the department of electrical and electronics engineering from the sample universities and 15 lecturers in industrial and technology education department, Federal University of Technology Minna. Mean, standard deviation and Z test were used in the analysis. The findings revealed that Lecture method is mostly used for instruction, Lecturers do not commence class activity from the previous lesson, students are not encouraged to do team work and there is no cordial relationship between lecturers and students. It is recommended among others that; Lecturers should establish a rapport with the class, Stimulate class participation and should be properly trained and retrained in the field of pedagogical skills.en_US
