Abstract: A study was conducted to evaluate 14 heavy metals in dry sediment samples used to assess the contamination of farmland in Eluku/Ojutaye village after a protracted petroleum product spill. Six samples of water and soil were collected from different locations which were subjected to physical and chemical analysis using standard methods for the examination of the soil and water samples. Concentrations of these samples’ elements were above compliance limit which may have long-term adverse effects on the soil and vegetation of the area. The pH and Electrical Conductivity (EC) were determined for both soil and water samples.
