Several Studies done over the years have shown that human factors are the main cause of road traffic accidents, they account for more than 80% of the causes of road traffic accidents in Nigeria. It therefore implies that any efforts to reduce road accidents to the barest minimum should focus on drivers, not only in the area of traffic rules and regulation enforcement. More importantly, efforts should be geared towards provision of highway education and driving training which has been considered as the most effective weapon of reducing road accidents particularly in highly motorised countries. This paper therefore discusses the traffic education and driving training solution for mitigating road traffic accident in Nigeria.en_US
