dc.description.abstract | The research determined the competency needs of foundry workers in recycling used metals for production of wooden machine parts in Minna metropolis. The major purpose of this study was to determine the competency need of foundry workers in recycling metal scraps for producing wood working machine parts. Two null hypotheses was formulated to guide the study. The researcher designed a questionnaire to solicit information from the respondents. The targeted population was 40 which consisted of 15 foundry masters and 25 foundry workers. The research design used in carrying out the study was the descriptive survey research. Data obtained were analyzed using mean and z-test statistics was used to test the two null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings were as follows : determined the correct type of metal scraps in compliance with the job specification and the degassing of the molten metal for a perfect casting. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended that there is a need for experienced foundry workers to collaborate with other experienced foundry workers to inprove their craftsmanship. And foundry workers should improve their finishing skills by always using files and sand paper. | en_US |
