Abstract: There are concerns about the quality management practices in the construction industry, demonstrated by the increasing frequency and number of building collapses and structural defects. In order to reverse this trend, there is need to establish mechanisms that support and engender quality control in the activities of the industry. This paper, using survey questionnaire as a tool, assessed the knowledge of quality control mechanisms of construction professionals in North Central Nigeria. A total of seven hundred questionnaires were distributed; with one hundred (100) questionnaires administered in each of the seven states making up North-Central geo-political zone of the country, using a non-probability sampling technique. A frequency analysis of the responses was carried out. The result of the study shows stakeholder involvement positively and significantly influences quality of building construction projects; a relatively high level of dissatisfaction or indifference to quality issues by construction professionals is worrisome. It is recommended that to enhance management practices in the industry, there is need for continued training, education and orientation of professionals.
