Abstract: This paper investigated the pedagogical use of information and communication technologies - Mediated Instruction for Teaching and Learning of History in secondary schools, in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State, Nigeria. Three schools were selected for the study. The research was a true experimental study. Sixty students were purposely selected. The researcher used a CAI package and History performance test as instrument for the study. The pre-test and post-test scores were analyzed using analysis of variance and T-test statistics at 0.05 level of significance. The findings showed that there was no significant difference on the academic performance of students exposed to ICT-Mediated instruction and conventional instruction. It was also found that gender has a significant effect on the performance of students when exposed to ICT-Mediated instruction.
